The Hotel Vila Joya is a superbly located neo-Moorish style villa, positioned as it is with the ocean at its feet and surrounded by pine woods and a wonderful garden replete with palm trees, cypresses and agaves. Though inside decoration is modern and very elegantly done, there is a certain 1001 nights feel to Vila Joya. On entering the atrium, for example, the visitor passes through a marvellous vault and is met by the Maître de Plaisir in his white gown reminiscent of a Sultan. As befits such a location, all rooms have views of the Atlantic and a terrace to enjoy it from. This is also an excellent place for golf enthusiasts as there are a number of fine golf courses nearby, including the world famous Vale do Lobo, Penina and Quinta do Lago clubs. In fact, there are around 14 courses within shouting distance. In short, a perfect environment to relax, take in the sea and enjoy some of the best coastlines the Algarve has to offer.
Recently opened, Vila Joya Spa provides gym, sauna, turkush bath, water corridor with experience showers, two inside treatment rooms with one of them being a couple treatment room, and two outside treatment rooms, of which one is used for Ayurvedic treatments. |

Visit Faro, capital of Algarve since 1756 with its beautiful buildings dating from XVIII century, althought pre-historc town, with mourish walls. There are many churches and museums to visit. The old city is fully pedestrian and attractive. If you love nature visit the Ria Formosa Natural Park: Roughly 60km long, this is one of Europe's last remaining intact coast lines. Has an abundance of marine life and an extremely rich ecosystem ideal for the development of a variety of flora and fauna. On the islands of Armona, Culatra and Farol, you will find long deserted beaches, specially on south side.
Visit Olhão's Fish market, in a restaured pavilion.
Montuments to see in Faro:
Church of Saint Clement - XVIII century, gothic style.Restaured after several earthwakes. Two side chapels from XVI century, with portuguese tyles.
Igreja da Misericórdia and Capela N.Sra. Conceicão, with blue and white tiles.
Mourish castle - restaured in XIII century.
Chapel N.Sra. Piedade - XVI century, tiles, 2 km west of Loulé. Spectacular views.
Estói Palace - Rococo style, XIX cetury, unique in the area.
Milreu Roman Ruins - I/II A.C, Beautiful mosaic baths. Transformed into a luxurious vila, and later into a Christian Basilica in the 5th century. Most pieces are now in the Municipal Museum of Faro.

The distance from International Airport to hotel Vila Joya is approx. 50 kms.
- After the airport exit or coming from Faro follow the signs EN/N 125 direction Lisbon-Portimão - Espanha
- change from N 125 to the IP 1 highway
- always follow the signs for Lisbon - Portimão - (later) Albufeira
- take the exit : Albufeira/Guia
- exit that street to Albufeira
- turn right at the crossing/traffic lights in Albufeira direction Salgados golf/São Rafael/Praia da Gale.
This road will lead you to a traffic circle with dolphins: keep going straight
- stay on this road ( ca. 2.5 kms) until you see an orange sign "Hapimag" on the left side in Vale Parra
- turn left and go straight to the end of the street
- at the end turn right direction Praia da Gale until you arrive at the next small traffic circle ("Gale mar" bulding on your left)
- keep going straight and you will find VILA JOYA after 100 meters on the left side.
