The region of Alba is blessed with a number of man made and natural wonders. This is definitely one of those regions where superlatives may be given free rein. Barolo and Barbaresco, considered by many to be the best wines in Italy are produced here, it’s oak forests are home the world’s most famous white truffle and it’s cuisine is known for a number of wonderful local dishes. Nestled within this lovely area, in a centuries old park and surrounded by gently sloping hills and vineyards, is the villa Beccaris, just outside the small town of Montforte d’Alba. The villa, dating back from the end of the 1700’s, has been carefully brought back to life in all its glory as a charming little hotel with 23 elegant rooms. Class emanates throughout, with period pieces mingling with more modern, but stylish, furniture to good effect. Each bedroom has its own unique characteristic and some even boast ornate ceilings. A Piemonte hotel that emanates a special and elegant atmosphere in what is in itself one of the most refined areas of Italy.
