Old world charm in one of Spain’s finest gastronomic regions and loveliest cities
If its class you’re looking for in San Sebastian (a lovely little city, by the way) then the Villa Soro has it in bucket loads. The mix of the place is certainly a happy one, for here you get the history of a 19th century manor house, which is recognized as a historically important monument in itself, with utter comforts and charm. The renovation that transformed it from a private house into a top notch hotel was done with care and attention to detail, using only the appropriate details in keeping with a 19th century style and feel, without, of course forsaking modern niceties such as Internet connection. Even the gardens have been landscaped in such a way to keep the atmosphere of an old world stately home. They provide a nice touch of peace to compliment the interior ambience. The rooms, for example, all are truly impressive. 25 in all, 15 are located in the main house whilst the other 10 are situated in what used to be the carriage house (decorated, English style, in red bricks). You could almost be forgiven for thinking you were in the middle of the Spanish countryside, yet the fact is that the Villa Soro is only a few minutes away from the beach close by Michelin star restaurants and the old part of town. Indeed, the city of San Sebastian is a hotbed of fine cuisine and full of fine Belle Époque style architecture - a legacy of when the city was a fashionable resort and the official summer residence of the Spanish royal family. So at the Villa Soro, class, cuisine, architecture and charm all go very happily together.

Via highway A8:
- Exit at DONOSTIA/SAN SEBASTIAN/ ONDARRETA
- At the roundabout, follow directions to «Ondarreta» by taking the Avenida
de Tolosa.
- Stay on Avenida de Tolosa, which later on becomes Avenida de
Zumalacarregui.
- Approximately 3 km later, you will arrive in front of the sea. Stay on the
avenue, which turns slightly towards the right and borders the sea.
- You are now on Paseo de la Concha, the sea is on your left.
- Stay on this avenue which borders the coast. Once you no longer have
the sea on your left, the avenue will become Calle San Martin. Keep going
straight until the end of this street.
- At the end of the street, you will be obliged to turn left and border the
river.
- 100m further down, you will be obliged to turn right and cross a bridge.
- After the bridge, continue straight - the street is the Calle Miracruz.
- Approximately 700m later, Calle Miracruz becomes Avenida de Ategorrieta,
where Villa Soro is situated.
- The hotel is on the left side but it is forbidden to turn left. You must
therefore stay on the avenue and turn around further up the road.
- Therefore, you will see Villa Soro on your left. At the following traffic light
turn right and then turn left inmediately in order to be able to get back onto
Avenida Ategorrieta in the opposite direction.
- You are now again on Avenida de Ategorrieta but in the opposite direction.
After the roundabout, Villa Soro is the fifth villa on your right.
