Lovely transformation of an ancient convent into a stylish modern hotel
It sometimes seems that only the Italians, with their innate sense of style, can manage to pull of an ultra modern hotel with neo-classical elegance to such good effect. Let us explain. The Hotel dei Chiostri was in fact built on an ancient convent and from the outside the architecture that appears before your eyes is definitely one in keeping with such a venerable building – neo-classical, the use of arches and even a clock tower. Located in the old part of town, it is also a beautiful backdrop to the magnificent landscape surrounding it, the mountains and vineyards all competing for our attention and the liberal use of superlative adjectives to describe the scene. Once inside, though you come across exotic modern design, where everything has been thought out to accentuate all the hotels beautiful points. Hence the large windows to let in the natural light and show up the lovely upholstery and furnishings. Then there are the bathrooms, which have all been designed by the modernist par excellence, Philip Stark. Lovers of good food will literally be feasting themselves for this is the area of the prosecco trails: literally hundreds wineries and restaurants specializing in the local cuisine, which features many delicious products typical of this region, including the famous radicchio. Those vacationing in Follina can take any number of excursions: first and foremost, there is Venice, unbeatable in any season (including the period of the film festival) and less than an hour away by car or train. Treviso and Padua are also within easy reach for city-lovers, but Follina is often used as a base for trips to the mountains where one can take long, invigorating walks along solitary paths, or hire expert guides for the more difficult ones.
Lovers of good food and wine will be in their element here, thanks to the many delights offered by the prosecco trails: hundreds of well-known and not-so-well-known wineries, excellent restaurants specializing in the local cuisine, which features many delicious products typical of this region, including the famous radicchio.

From Venice, by Car:
Follow the green signs for the A4 motorway in directionof Trieste. Take the dual carriageway in the direction of Trieste for approx 10 km looking out for the green signs for AEROPORTO and the A27.
Exit the dual carriageway and take the A27 in the direction of BELLUNO, not forgetting to pick up a ticket from the toll. Keep on the motorway passed Treviso and at the CONEGLIANO exit pay the toll and carry straight on.
At the traffic light, turn left in diretion of TREVISO and after passing two traffic lights turn at the third right and follow the indication for PIEVE DI SOLIGO and drive for a further 10 kilometres.
As you arrive in the centre of PIEVE DI SOLIGO, you'll find a church on the right, cross a small bridge and then you'll find the main square of the town of PIEVE DI SOLIGO. Continue on this road and follow indications for FOLLINA. As you enter the town of Follina, go towards LA BELLA and follow the sign for ABBAZIA SANTA MARIA XII SIECLE. Continue until the gate to that you'll find on the left side to the MUNICIPIO.
