J.K. Place Capri
Capri - Capri - Amalfi, Capri & Sorrento
Luxury Hotel
Number of rooms: 22

The J.K. Place Capri is something rather special indeed…. sensual, refined style, oozing comfort and hovering just a few feet above the Mediterranean.

The team behind Florence’s JK idea created such a good vibe that they decided to turn their hands to the south of Italy and the wonderful isle of Capri. So it was that in early 2007, J.K. Place Capri swung its doors wide open to beautiful seductive interiors, yards of luxurious fabrics, a warm, sophisticated feel and a sensation of déja vu – you may not have seen this hotel before but you’ve probably dreamt of it.

Twenty two rooms hug the hill just above Capri’s port, the only hotel on the island with direct access to the beach and those beautiful Mediterranean waters. The J.K. Place-feel combined with Capri’s addictive, dreamlike environment mean that this is a combination made in heaven. Already a destination designed for relaxation, Capri’s cliffs tower out of the transparent blue-green sea, bright white houses with their flattened domes hinting Moorish influences, deep blue skies, the vibrant colours of the ceramic tiles, scents of Mediterranean macchia; it is a magical island. When you combine the scenery, southern flavours and air of freedom with that outdoor (heated) pool set in the garden, surrounded by decking and a terrace with views leading off to somewhere on the other side of the Mediterranean you must be close to heaven. A massage before lunch? Siesta to the sounds of the sea below, an aperitivo a little later? But where? Anacapri, Piazza Duomo or down by the port to watch the sunset?

A beautiful hotel in a little piece of paradise, J.K. Place Capri is a must if you owe someone a treat!

ll Activities
Capri offers some of the most sensual scenery and indulgent atmosphere in the Mediterranean. It is a magical island and one that changes if you stay the night there; once the day trippers have gone back to Naples and Sorrento and the sun sets over Ischia on the far side of the bay, the island reveals a more delicate, more contemplative side. You have the run of restaurants, cafés and bars, you can blend with the locals or do your own thing and dine very, very well and simply soak up the beautiful Mediterranean evenings.

In the daytime you can relax by the pool, indulge in the spa centre pop down the path to the beach. You could hire a boat and explore the island’s hidden coves (the southern side is the quietest and you can see the bottom through the clear green waters, even 20 metres deep). Those keen on history may want to walk up to Villa Jovis where Tiberius indulged in his perversions. More peaceful now, the villa is still impressive despite being left to the elements with very little protection. It is on one of the highest points of the island and, from the top of very sheer cliffs, you can see across to Naples, Vesuvius and south, beyond Paestum to the Cilento, close to the border with Basilicata.

ll Tips & Getting There
If you arrive into Naples (Capodichino) airport, the easiest thing to do is take a taxi to the port, indicating that you want Molo Beverello – the boats to Capri leave from here. Expect to somewhere in the region of 15 – 20 Euros depending on traffic and how many bags you have.
Once you arrive at the port take the boat (in the spring and summer they are normally at least two an hour) across to Capri (40 mins). If you are feeling strong and without too many bags you can walk the five minutes to the hotel, up and to the right, other wise take one of the taxis that wait at the bottom of the pier (they charge well over the odds but then they don’t have any work in the winter!)

Please feel free to send us your personal hotel review on this hotel. You may wonder why all the assessments we have on line are positive. Well, apart from the simple fact that we try to include only what we consider to be the best accommodations, there’s another important reason to bear in mind. Any hotel that receives 3 negative feedbacks is automatically taken out of our selection.
