The Justin de Provence is an ongoing love affair between Isabelle, Philippe and their own special “Mas Provencal”. The beginning of this story goes back to 1927 when Isabelle’s grandfather acquired a sheep fold to take care of his flock. Later on, parts were added ad hoc, until it more or less gained its present structure, and it has been passed down the family ever since. The present incumbents are the lovely Isabelle and Philippe, and given the excellent raw material at their disposal it was pretty obvious they had something special in the Justin de province. And so they decided to open it up to the public in 2000 as a charming place to stay. But not before much hard work and inspiration, though, for a large team of local artisans was brought in to basically turn everything upside down. 600 metres of rooftops were restored, the interior was totally redesigned and the 7 hectares of surrounding land were planted with olive, chestnut and bay trees, under which, by the way, you will find both the lovely swimming pool and Jacuzzi (one of our suggestions would be to take a deck-chair, slip under the shade under the summer sunlight and just chill out, preferably with one of Isabelle’s wonderful home made jams at your disposal). Isabelle’s enthusiasm for her little piece of heaven on earth is infectious and rightly so. The house is bright, warm, lodgings large and well furnished, earthly colours and a location that is right in the heart of the Rhone valley some 25 kilometres from Avignon. In short, it is a microcosm for all the good things of Provence, maintaining as it does a healthy balance between local tradition and modern comforts, plus a wonderful hospitality that is at least the equal of the Justin de Provence’s physical attributes.

By car:
Take the A7 motorway A7. Exit at “Orange centre”. Once in Orange, follow the direction of “Camaret/Vaison la Romaine”. After the out-of-town road sign, take the first on the right, then follow “chemin Nogaret” and the “Justin de Provence” signs.
