We’ve found our little bit of Heaven. If Bahia is fast becoming one of the world’s hottest destinations then it's thanks to places like the Kiaroa Eco Resort. Truly stunning, it makes for a unique experience, an ecological sanctuary surrounded by the Atlantic forest that also takes in a deserted beach, coconut groves and pure 24 carat gold silence.
The mix of rooms and bungalows (14 of each) fits in perfectly with the spectacular natural surroundings and being spread out over a wide area, space is not something that is at a premium. In fact, that’s one of the things about this area of Brazil, everything seems to be bigger, brighter, sharper and more colourful.
These superlatives can also be applied to the service, which is top notch. Guests will want for nothing at the Kiaroa and a small teaser of things here include a 800m2 swimming pool, boutique and convenience store, spa, wet bar at the pool, VIP lounge at Salvador’s International airport and even a certified private airstrip and helipad, not forgetting wireless internet access and a whole host of sports activities.
So getting back to nature does not preclude sophistication – or romance come to think of it. In fact, legend has it that many moons ago the Gods Saquaíra and Maraú lived happily in love until Camamu appeared wooing Saquaíra taking her away in his canoe.
Desperate, Maraú asked the God Tupã to embellish the place so that his love would come back, but, though he was heeded, the beautiful Indian never came back. Before he died, Maraú asked Tupã for a special favor: that all couples that met at the place where he had lived with his beloved one or travelled there, would never separate.
Kiaroa exists exactly where Tupã supposedly granted Maraú's wishes. Here we are reminded that life was meant to be lived in Technicolor not than the nuances of dab grey that we often become accustomed to. Perhaps this is paradise found. One that, as yet, only a few knowledgeable people know about.

Taipus de Fora Natural Pools:
A world of colors and exclusive movements for you. Elected one of the most beautiful beaches in Brazil, it has a natural pool, formed by a live coral reef, approximately 20,000 square meters, a real untouched submarine nursery.

Activities in the hotel and neighborhood
For those who are adept at breast strokes, the 800m2 swimming pool lane is a great idea, after all swimming is the most complete sport there is. The racket gang can “train” for the Open without looking bad on the tennis court.
Now, “pedallers” can stretch out on the trails and arrive at the natural pools aboard their bikes. In that very place, practicing a nice contemplative dive and let imagination take you before the incredible aquarium created by nature.

Beaches, walks and pedaling:

By Air:
From Salvador International Airport, aboard the twin-engine plane taking you to Kiaroa. Abaeté dunes, the blue sea and the coastline soft geography profiles already are, on their own, a gift. The approximately 30-minute panoramic flight, leaves the guest on the hotel runway – at 50 meters from the lobby.
By land from Salvador:
Another option is by land, by highway BR-324, crossing Baía de Todos os Santos (“All Saints Bay”) by ferry-boat and, passing through Itaparica Island, arriving at the city of Camamu. From there, on boats or launches, Maraú river is run between mangroves and islets, Barra Grande port is reached. From there to Kiaroa it is quick, only 10 minutes, by resort vehicles that are already waiting for you. Total route is approximately 370km, which lasts 6 hours on average.
By land from Ilhéus:
You can also get there through Ilhéus and, by boat or land, run more or less 170km, about 3 hours, passing through very beautiful landscapes with intense vegetation, typical of the Atlantic Forest.
