Venice may offer visitors a many great number of places to stay, but finding an accommodation that combines a reasonable price, oodles of charm and an excellent location to boot is actually somewhat difficult. Hence we were delighted to have found the Locanda Art Deco, a little boutique hotel that not only includes all the above points but more besides. First, let’s take the location - being situated right by the Accademia Bridge and a 5 minute walk away from Saint Marks Square, perhaps Venice’s best known point of reference, makes the Art Deco simply a wonderful base from which to discover this stunning city. Secondly, there’s the Locanda Art Deco itself, a delighftul 17th century palazzo that has been completely renovated in an art deco style, from whence it gets its name. Many of the pieces are unique and have obviously been chosen with great care. We particularly liked the little idiosyncracies, such as the reception desk underneath the stairs (excellent use of space) and the mix of old world architecture with quirky decór scattered throughout, such as the sewing machine by the sofa or 50’s radio. This combination of furnishings is singular and spot on, in our opinion. The bedrooms carry on in this quirky vein, nothing over the top but imaginatively decorated and comfortable with modern bathrooms and the characteristic wooden beams. Add to this the friendly and efficient staff and we have a very good value for money Venice hotel that is full of ambience.

ll	Tips & Getting There

From Venice/Marco Polo Airport you have direct buses that will take you
to Venice Piazzale Roma parking.
From Treviso airport, you will find taxis and blue buses that take you
to Piazzale Roma parking.
From Piazzale Roma parking, the railway station or Tronchetto parking, you can take public boat (vaporetto : cost 5,00 € per person per trip) n°1 or n°82 in the direction San Marco/Lido passing through The Grand Canal. If you take n°1, the stop is called “Sant’Angelo”; if you take n°82, the stop is “San Samuele/Palazzo Grassi”.Then follow the directions on the map, it is very simple and in 2 minutes, by foot, you will arrive at the Hotel.

Where to park the car
It is possible to park your car at the Tronchetto parking, just before the end of the bridge (called Ponte Della Libertà), turn right for Tronchetto Parking.
Going all the way at the end of the bridge, you will arrive in Piazzale Roma parking where you can park the car at the parking called “Garage Comunale” An alternative parking solution is to park the car in front of the railway station of Mestre (and take a train to Venice Santa Lucia (1 stop/10 minutes).

From Tronchetto , Piazzale Roma, or the railway station take the public boat line (vaporetto) and follow directions as mentioned in “Directions to find us”
