Mareta View Boutique Bed & Breakfast
Sagres - Algarve
Seaside
Number of rooms: 17

Sitting comfortably on the cliffs sound pretty good to us. That’s where you’ll find the Mareta View Boutique Bed & Breakfast - in a mound overlooking the white sands of Mareta beach, bathed by the sun and Atlantic Ocean. This is Sagres, a small village of 2,000 inhabitants situated at the most westerly tip of Portugal and also part of the “Parque Natural do Sudoeste Alentejano” and of the Vincentine Coast . A good spot to launch your ships should you want to discover a new continent!

Mareta View has 17 bedrooms, all of which are large and decorated in a modern fashionable manner. 8 rooms also come with balconies that boast an incredible view of the sea – a sea, by the way, that has the warmest waters in Portugal and can provide all sorts of sports and entertainment, such as swimming, surfing, wind surfing, diving and fishing. But not here has to do with salt water – the Mareta view will be pleased to help in various activities, including trekking, cycling and horse riding, to name but a few.

Breakfast can be taken in the room but we suggest enjoying it in the Tropical Garden, breathing in the sea air and savouring an incredible vista. Using a bit of imagination, one can almost envisage the coast of the United States or, more precisely, if we follow the parallel the state of Virginia.

But to finish off as we started, the beauty of the location on the cliffs, the ample rooms and extremely friendly staff make the Mareta View Boutique Bed & Breakfast an excellent and good value for money place to stay.

Surf
Great waves...
Thanks to its unique location on a cape, Sagres enjoys the best of both coasts.
West coast - has swells from the north and southeast. Coast with consistent waves throughout the year and a variety of point breaks, mostly sandy. Integrated within a nature park, many of the access roads are dirt tracks, making the beaches wilder and less crowded. The natural beauty of the beaches combined with the great swell will surely make for excellent surfing experiences.
South Coast - has swells from the south and large swells from the west. Consistent waves in winter, this region is not only known for its natural beauty but also the quality and perfection of its waves.

Regarded by many surfers as Europe's great hidden secret for surfing for both beginners and experts, Sagres offers you blue skies, crystal clear and uncrowded waters with great waves.

Windsurf
Martinhal Beach - the predominately north winds during the summer months and crystal clear water make this beach one of the favourite spots for European windsurfers. In summer the beach is the perfect place for slalom, freeride and freestyle with strong winds and calm waters. In winter this spot is more suited to waveriding.

Tonel Beach - west coast - July and August are the best months for windsurfing on this beach. During this time, the north winds blow offshore at Martinhal beach. If you are in the mood for waveriding, try out Tonel beach since the winds here are pretty good and the waves break regularly. But be careful: the small size of the beach area and the existence of rock outcrops make this place suitable only for experienced windsurfers.
