An old world Venice Hotel located by the river bank

For those looking to enjoy that old world feel and romanticism – piano playing in the foyer, that certain baroque feel - you can’t get much more romantic than the Metropole Hotel. The gold plaited chandeliers; timepieces and bronze figurines further enhance the effect of being in a place that truly belongs in another time. The old world character is authentic too, given the way the Beggiato family look after the Metropole. The wonderful location also sticks in the mind for some time, as it is located along the waterfront a stone’s throw from St Marks Square. It even has its own private canal mooring, making it a practical (if not necessarily cheap) way of using the water taxi system. That’s at the front, at the back there is a delightful garden in which to relax after hard days slog visiting the numerous sights of this unique city. A historical footnote is that Vivaldi composed his famous Four Seasons in the breakfast room.

From the airport: approximately 60 minutes ferry boat crossing.
This service is run by the Alilaguna company.
Arrival into Venice is at the Arsenale boat stop (approximately 320 metres from the Hotel).

In an intricate city like Venice is, you will enjoy the privilege of arriving by water taxi directly into the Metropole Hotel, using the unique canal entrance.
From the Airport approximately 30 minutes boat crossing.
This is quick, easy and naturally a bit expensive: approximately 80 € (payment should be made in cash, also via the Hotel concierge)

PRE BOOKED WATER TAXI ON YOUR ARRIVAL
On request the Hotel Metropole supplies a service for private transport.
On arrival at the airport, there will be a person waiting for you.
From Marco Polo airport: approximately 30 minutes journey.
