Monte das Fontes is located 20 Km from Évora, between Redondo and Évoramonte and 172 km from Lisbon which is two hours away by highway. The house lies within 1,200 acres on private cork estate, facing a 14-acre lake and the peace and tranquillity of the Alentejo countryside, of green hills dotted with trees.
The main house (4,800 ft2) is built in one level with terraces facing stunning views of the landscape and the lake. The style is rustic Alentejo with tile floors, wooden beams and mosaics. It has central heating and also internet connection.
There is a total of 6 bedrooms:
1 double bed & 1 twin bed with a private bathroom
3 twin bed & 1 double bed sharing 2 bathrooms
A spacious 1,000 ft2 living room with a fireplace and exit to the main terrace, decorated in light modern country style. A library with TV/DVD and a fireplace. An ample dining room sitting 16, with a fireplace and direct exit to a terrace. And a game room with TV and another fireplace, together with a separate room with table tennis and direct access to a smaller terrace.
The main terrace faces South/East and overlooks the lake. It has 8 deck chairs, a dining table and chairs for 16 people.
It is provided with a generous kitchen, fully equipped with all modern facilities such as dishwasher, gas oven and stove, fridge, microwave oven and most of the smaller kitchen utilities. A washing machine and a separate room for a pantry.

Swimming – The lake is safe to swim, but is unsupervised. Special swim vests are available for children. The quality of the water is regularly controlled by the Water Department of the University of Évora.
Horses – Horses at the Monte das Fontes are not suitable for inexperienced riders. Although there are horse-riding facilities, it is necessary to book it in advance (only available from April to October).
Boating – Rubber dinghies are available
Bicycles – Four bicycles to make trips around the countryside
Trekking/Jogging – Identified trails for trekking and jogging excursions through a lovely countryside
Fishing – Fishing in the lake is allowed, although you will have to bring your own tackle
Bird watching – Uncommon species can be spotted in this area of Portugal.
Wine – The region boasts some fine wines, such as: Rendondo, Borba, Esporão and Quinta do Carmo, offering us a great opportunity to visit a “bodega”.
Shopping – For grocery shopping the nearest town is Freixo (3 miles). A supermarket can be found at Redondo (12 miles)
OTHER FACILITIES
Meals can be prearranged, if required
Barbeques can be organized, under the supervision of the staff
Harmless cattle roam freely throughout the estate

Depart Lisbon through the Vasco da Gama bridge, by the A12 highway.
Drive towards EVORA/ESPANHA, entering the A6 highway.
Leave the A6 at EVORA by exit 6 (Km 75)
Follow the directions of EVORAMONTE / ESTREMOZ (N18).
Half a mile before Evoramonte, take the road to FREIXO.
