The Murano Urban Resort is one of the most cutting edge Paris hotels in one of the coolest areas, Le Marais, the heart of the troisième arrondissement.
Not just a place to stay but an experience in itself, offering moments of style and luxury wrapped up in a holistic, relaxed sense of sophistication. This is a new type of hotel that offers everything you would ever want. All of the details, and one overall aim; that your time in Paris, whether relaxing on a romantic break or looking for something a little more stimulating on a business trip, is absolutely lived to the maximum.
Using the latest technology you can change the colours and tones of the room as you see fit, whether soothing and relaxing hues to ensure long blissful hours of sleep or wilder, deeper, more sensual tones for an imaginative Parisian night. Design is bold and features everywhere in the hotel’s recent modeling though, as all good design should be, it is generally unobtrusive and exists to relax, enliven or stimulate subliminally. Swimming pools in many of the suites, an excellent baroque/contemporary restaurant with a focus on creative and light cuisine and a stunningly bold bar may lead you astray for a little while before the streets, cafés and bars of Paris call you to come and explore.
Being located in Le Marais (Paris’s very alive and hip quarter) means you have all kinds of great places to eat, drink and explore close to the hotel. This is a quarter that’s growing rapidly to accommodate the recent influx of those in the know and the number of really good bars and restaurants is increasing on an almost weekly basis. If you prefer to venture a little further, though, the Metro station is 50m from the hotel with a further two lines close by meaning your transport into other zones is hassle-free. The hotel is just a 10 minute walk from the Centre Pompidou and 25 minutes from Notre Dame from where the Left Bank lies in wait.
To sum up then, this hotel is really rather unique. If your trip to Paris is meant to be memorable, staying at the Murano Urban Resort will guarantee a singular and unforgettable experience whilst putting you in exactly the right position to enjoy not just this wonderful city but what it can mean to spend 24, 48 or more hours in the lap of sweet, sensual luxury.

Activities Musée d’Orsay Tel 1: +33 (0) 1 40 49 49 78 Tel 2: +33 (0) 1 40 49 40 00 www.musee-orsay.fr
Full price tickets = €7.50 reduced on Sundays to €5.50 and on the first Sunday of each month the museum is free but busy as a consequence! Opening Hours: 9.30am – 6pm (Thursday until 9.45pm). Closed Mondays. For individuals without tickets use entrance A on the left of the façade.
In 2006 the d’Orsay marked her 20th birthday remembering the day in which she was re-born from her previous incarnation as a commuter train station. The good news is that the celebrations are continuing into 2007 with a whole selection of special events and exhibitions. Many will want to come for the standing collections of Western Art (1848-1914) covering the realists, impressionists and a whole lot more besides. The building alone is worth a visit. Monet, Manet, Degas, Cézanne, Van Gogh, Gaugain and Seurat are all waiting!
The Louvre A hugely resourceful website at www.louvre.fr Full price basic ticket = €8.50 which gives you a day’s entrance to the main areas which to be honest, is more than enough for one day anyway. We recommend buying a Carte Musées et Monuments that comes in a 1 (€18), 3 (€36) or 5 (€54) day format and, apart from giving you access to another 59 Paris museums, means you can also skip the lines which can be horrifically long from March until the end of the summer. Admission to the Louvre is free on the first Sunday of every month but there can be significant queues as a result! Opening Hours: The museum is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day except Tuesday. On Wednesdays and Fridays it is open until 9.45 pm.
Close to 700 years as the main residence for French Kings and Emperors left its mark on this wonderful collection of buildings. Now though it is more famous for housing the largest collection of art in the world, some 35,000 works from the 13th century up to 1848 (when the Musée d’Orsay takes over). 200 years as a museum has given the Louvre a bit of a head start in developing its collections and if your interest in paintings by Caravaggio, da Vinci, Rubens, Goya, Constable, Delacroix, Raphael, Rembrandt or Giotto can’t be held then the museum also houses collections of classical art that rival those of the British Museum and the Vatican. Islamic Art, Egyptian and Near Eastern Antiquities can all be found.

The very efficient RER commuter trains arrive in the centre of Paris from either Orly or Roissy Charles de Gaulles airports. The closest station is Châtelet Les Halles, 1.5km from the hotel so a short taxi ride.
The hotel is just 50m from the Filles Du Calvaire metro station (Line 8), 200m from Oberkampf (Lines 9 & 5) and 5 minutes’ walk from Republique where the handy number 11 line takes you right into the area around the Louvre. From here it a simple 5 minute hop across the river to the Left Bank, passing by Notre Dame. |
