• From Mealhada: Turn to road EN234, in the direction of Luso/Buçaco. After approximately 6 Km, you will find Luso village. Continue on the same road for another 1,5 Km and you will find the entrance to Mata do Bussaco at your right. Once you pass the main entrance gate, turn left and keep going up hill for another 2 Km where you will find the Palace Hotel of Bussaco.
• From the Highway (toll): Exit on Mealhada/Cantanhede, and after passing the toll (“portagens”), keep going straight for approximately 3 Km, where you will meet road EN1. Here, turn left and keep going in the direction of Mealhada until you reach the 4th roundabout. Turn right to road EN234, in the direction of Luso/Buçaco. After approximately 6 Km you will find Luso village. Continue on the same road for another 1,5 Km and you will find the entrance to Mata do Bussaco at your right. Once you pass the main entrance gate, turn left and keep going up hill for another 2 Km where you will find the Palace Hotel of Bussaco.
• From Viseu: Once you cross the border in Vilar Formoso, follow the IP5 road, until you reach Viseu. Take the IP3 road via Tondela. At approximately 35 Km, turn right to Sta. Comba Dão. In the Centre of the village, turn left towards Mortágua/Luso, to road EN234. In Mortágua, once you reach the roundabout, keep going straight on road EN234. After about 17 Km, you will find a road on your left, indicating Mata do Bussaco (after the windmill in Sula). Once you pass the main entrance gate, keep going for another 1 Km where you will find the Palace Hotel of Bussaco.
From Porto in direction of Bussaco
Take the A1 heading south and exit on 14th exit in direction of Mealhada. Pass the toll and take the first one on your left in direction of Mealhada, and arriving at the first roundabout exit on the third on the right crossing a brigde over a train line where then you´ll find a new roundabout where you´ll exit the second one on the right, arriving then to a third roundabout where you´ll take the second one on the right in direction of Luso N234 road. Arriving to Luso, on the stop lights dont head in the direction of Bussaco passing trough the interior of Luso, instead continue on N234, when you start climbing to the Bussaco Moutain you´ll find a turn a first 180º turn to your left, another one to your right and yet another to your left and then you´ll see on your left a road going up, that leads directly to the Bussaco Woods entrance, in direction of the Hotel.
From Madrid to Bussaco.
Head to Salamanca and take the A162 / E80 to the Fuentes de Oñoro / Vilar Formoso border Siga para Salamanca e tome a A162 / E80 para a fronteira Fuentes de Oñoro / Vilar Formoso, taking IP5 where you should :
Option a) exit in Mangualde taking the N234, exiting Nelas you´ll take the IC12 until the end then heading to IP3 in direction of Viseu for scarce Kms. Exiting in Santa Comba Dão where you should take the N234 heading to Mortágua and on the beginning of the Bussaco Moutain you´ll see on your left, already in the "povoação das Almas / Sul (South), the indication to head to Bussaco
Option b) Exiting before Viseu to IP3 and head to Santa Comba Dão where you should take the N234 in direction of Mortágua and on the beginning of the Bussaco Moutain you´ll see on your left, already in the "povoação das Almas / Sul (South), the indication to head to Bussaco.
- From Occidental Galiza heading to Bussaco.
Take the A3 IP1 until Porto where you should proceed in A1 heading to Lisbon and exiting on the 14th exit in direction of Mealhada and arriving at the first roundabout exit on the third on the right crossing a brigde over a train line where then you´ll find a new roundabout where you´ll exit the second one on the right, arriving then to a third roundabout where you´ll take the second one on the right in direction of Luso N234 road. Arriving to Luso, on the stop lights dont head in the direction of Bussaco passing trough the interior of Luso, instead continue on N234, when you start climbing to the Bussaco Moutain you´ll find a turn a first 180º turn to your left, another one to your right and yet another to your left and then you´ll see on your left a road going up, that leads directly to the Bussaco Woods entrance, in direction of the Hotel. - From Oriental Galiza heading to Bussaco Galiza Oriental Take the A24 on the border of Verin till Viseu, then heading to Santa Comba Dão where you should take the N234 heading Mortágua and at the beginning of the Bussaco moutain you´ll see on your left, already in the "povoação das Almas / Sul (South), the indication to head to Bussaco.
From Valladolid to Bussaco.
Take the A62 E80 heading to Salamanca and at the Guentes de Oñoro / Vilar Formoso border you should:

From Leon to Bussaco.
Take the A66, going south and then change to the A52 till Puebla de Sanabria to cross the border in direction of Bragança, then take IP4 till Vila Real and proceeding to A24 till Viseu, from there take the IP3 till Santa Comba Dão where you should take the N234 in direction of Mortágua and at the beginning of the Bussaco moutain you´ll see on your left, already in the Povoação das Almas / Sul, the indication to go to Bussaco.
From Zamora to Bussaco.
Take the N630 to Salamanca and then the A162 / E80 to the Fuentes de Oñoro / Vilar Formoso, then follow the IP5 where should: Option a) Exit Mangualde taking the N234, exiting Nelas you should take IC12 until it ends, then following the IP3 in direction of Viseu, for scarce Kms. Exiting Santa Comba Dão where you should take the N234 in direction of Mortágua, at the beginning of the Bussaco Moutain you´ll see, on your left, already in the "povoação das Almas / Sul" the indication to go to Bussaco.
Option b) Exit to IP3 before Viseu and go in direction of Santa Comba Dão where you should take N234 in direction of Mortágua Sair antes de Viseu para a IP3 e seguir até Santa Comba Dão onde deverá tomar a N234 em direcção a Mortágua, at the beginning of the Bussaco Moutain you´ll see, on your left, already in the "povoação das Almas / Sul" the indication to go to Bussaco.
From Badajoz to Bussaco.
Take the A6 and:
Option 1)Proceed until you reach, and exit, to A13 in direction of Santarém where you should take the A1 heading North until the 14th exit in Mealhada, and arriving to the first roundabout exit on the third, crossing a brigde over a train line where then you´ll find a new roundabout where you´ll exit the second one on the right, arriving then to a third roundabout where you´ll take the second one on the right in direction of Luso N234 road. Arriving to Luso, on the stop lights dont head in the direction of Bussaco passing trough the interior of Luso, instead continue on N234, when you start climbing to the Bussaco Moutain you´ll find a turn a first 180º turn to your left, another one to your right and yet another to your left and then you´ll see on your left a road going up, that leads directly to the Bussaco Woods entrance, in direction of the Hotel.
Option 2) In Estremoz take the IP2 heading north and crossing over the Rio Tejo (Tagus River) the A23 heading west (Torres Novas), passing the toll you should take the A1 heading Porto/Norte exiting on Mealhada, take the first one on the left heading to Mealhada, and arriving to the first roundabout exit on the third on your right, crossing a bridge over a train line where then you´ll find a new roundabout where you´ll exit the second one on the right, arriving then to a third roundabout where you´ll take the second one on the right in direction of Luso N234 road. Arriving to Luso, on the stop lights dont head in the direction of Bussaco passing trough the interior of Luso, instead continue on N234, when you start climbing to the Bussaco Moutain you´ll find a turn a first 180º turn to your left, another one to your right and yet another to your left and then you´ll see on your left a road going up, that leads directly to the Bussaco Woods entrance, in direction of the Hotel.
From Sevilha to Bussaco.
Head to Huelva and Ayamonte, take the A22 and then the A2 in direction of Lisbon.
On the intersection of A2 with A13 and with A6 take the A13 heading to Santarém, from there take the A1 heading North and go trough the 14th exit on Mealhada, take the first on your left in direction of Mealhada, arriving at the first roundabout exit on the third to your right, and arriving to the first roundabout exit on the third, crossing a brigde over a train line where then you´ll find a new roundabout where you´ll exit the second one on the right, arriving then to a third roundabout where you´ll take the second one on the right in direction of Luso N234 road. Arriving to Luso, on the stop lights dont head in the direction of Bussaco passing trough the interior of Luso, instead continue on N234, when you start climbing to the Bussaco Moutain you´ll find a turn a first 180º turn to your left, another one to your right and yet another to your left and then you´ll see on your left a road going up, that leads directly to the Bussaco Woods entrance, in direction of the Hotel.
By Train: To arrive in Bussaco from Oporto or Lisbon, please take the express train (“Alfa” or “Intercidades”) to Coimbra, and then take a Taxi or rent-a-car from Coimbra to Bussaco.
By Airplane: Use the Oporto International Airport, 120 Km (approx. 1h30 hour drive) or the Lisbon International Airport, 230 Km (approx. 2h30 hours drive) from Bussaco. You can then arrive by Car or Train.
