A Truly wonderful and refined Umbria Hotel
As one drives along the Umbrian hills, the views seem to go on forever, as does the beauty of this magical place. Surely if ever there was heaven on earth award, the Palazzo Terranova would be one of the prime candidates for the prize. Every season brings with it its own splendour and colour - from the poppy spotted fields in spring, to the lush green of the vineyards and olive groves in summer, the rust red leaves in autumn and even the tranquil grey in winter. Whatever the period, however, the Palazzo Terranova is in our opinion the perfect retreat, conjuring up peace and tranquility in an environment far removed from every day cares. Indeed, we couldn’t put it better than the hotels brochure, which calls itself a dream for all seasons, a villa that must be built in accordance with nature’s laws of light, air and temperature. Matching this natural equilibrium are the beautiful interiors. Special care went into the exquisitely decorated bedrooms and suites, reflecting Italian master craftsmanship. The rich and wonderful furniture together with the items collected over the years give each room its singular character and ensure that no two are alike. A further of the many plus points (we can’t think of any negatives at all) is its location as a perfect base for exploring Renaissance Italy and the major Umbrian towns, such as Perugia, Assisi, Gubbio and Spello, as well as trekking over to neighbouring Tuscany. A truly wonderful hotel in Umbria.
