Ciudad Encantada.
35 km from the town. An interesting area, designated of National interest for its incredible natural rock formations.

Las Torcas.
This geological phenomenon is to be found 20 km in the direction of Teruel. It consists of nearly fifty circular shaped sunken pits in an area of six square kilometers.

Cuenca is a walker's delight. In fact, you really need to wander at slow and gentle pace to appreciate and absorb the datails of the city.

Hanging Houses. Built on the edge of the Huecar Gorge in the 14th-century, the beautiful wooden balconies of these Hanging Houses seem to be suspended in space. They have become emblematic of the town.

Cathedral. On the Plaza Mayor, in the upper, older town. A Norman-Gothic building begun by Alfonso VIII over a former mosque. The larger chapel and altar and the transept are noteworthy.

The Diocesan Museum of Sacred Art. The ground floor of the Episcopal Palace houses an impressive collection of half-modern, half-religious art with exceptionally valuable objects from the cathedral and other churches of the Diocese of Cuenca.

Museum of Abstract Art. In the Hanging Houses. Works by Tapies, Chillida, Saura, Torner and Feito among others.

The Hermitage of the Virgin of Las Angustias. Its visit is a must. It is reached by following an impressive walk between rocks which passes the atrium of Los Descalzos.

The Cuenca Museum. It occupies La Casa del Curato opposite the Hanging Houses and includes the archaeological finds of the province since the Paleolithic period.

Mangana Tower. Former Arab minaret on the promenade where there used to be a fortress. The clock on top was taken from the cathedral.

Suspension Bridge. Made of cast iron and boards, this crosses the Huecar Gorge below the Hanging Houses. Impressive views of the town, the Hanging Houses, and the craggy rivers cape of the Huecar.
