Ask our advice
Literally meaning the "Estate of the Salt Chamber" the name of Salzkammergut comes from the Imperial Salt Chamber, the power encumbered with operating the valuable salt mines in the Habsburg empire.
It’s a beautiful place, replete with gorgeous lakes and mountains, making it a paradise for nature lovers and sports activists alike. It offers numerous opportunities for water activities, trekking, cycling and more refined sports such as golf.
The lakes, of course, are one of its “piece de la resistance”, so to speak, and include the Grundlsee and Toplitzsee.
In short, a wonderful place to reconnect with nature and our charming and boutique hotels in Salzkammergut are the perfect bases for which to take it all in.
