Convento São Saturnino - a romantic place to stay close to Cascais, Sintra and Lisbon Located 25 km from Lisbon in the heart of the 5800-acre ocean side nature reserve within one of Portugal's most treasured regions there is a truly secret place - the Convento São Saturnino – and odds on you will be enchanted by it.
Weathered beams, attic roofs, canopied beds, antique family furniture and paintings make for an extremely attractive ambience where, warmth and refinement are in endless supply. The large and crystal clear pool, built in the monastery’s ancient water tank is an open invitation to bask in the sun (weather permitting), the only distraction being the bubbling of a mountain stream cascading towards the ocean below.
At the end of the day or if the sea wind rises you may take refuge in the pavilion by the open fire and contemplate the exceptional view below. The excellent buffet breakfast can be served in the old kitchen or in the transformed chapel. Alternately it may also be taken outside in the garden or on the terrace towards the ocean.
Many typical restaurants are dotted among the surrounding hills, excellent beaches and village nearby. As someone who stayed there said “Even the cats are wonderful”.
PLEASE NOTE: Given the layout of the Convento São Saturnino, it is not suitable for small children.

Really loved staying at Sao Saturnino. The service was great and very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend anyone to stay here. The convent is really cool with lots of character and places to relax. Rooms were very large and comfortable as well. Would definitely go back!!

The Convento Sao Santurnino was a real treat. The hotel was very comfortable and the breakfast really lovely. And it certainly was a secret place ! which we loved.

When you get to the convent you feel like you reached the most secluded and protected place in the area while you're actually quite close to Azoia and a lot of beach and site seeing options. The convent is gorgeous, full of mystery. A bit more historical input about the place would be even better.

Me and my wife were not expecting this at all! But glad we experienced this surreal site. We had a pleasant stay. Sharon and Her colleague were sweet. It is such a private place, excellent for newly weds (honey moon) or partners really just trying to find a peaceful place to disconnect from the society. Being that we are from NYC, we really needed this! Thank you so much!!!

Aconselho a experiencia.

Eine wirklich tolle Hotelanlage. Schöne Lage, tolle Natur. Atemberaubende Sicht auf den Atlantik. Sehr gastfreundliches Personal.
