Timbrell's Yard is a rare gem and a very special secretplace as it is one of only a few hotels in Bradford on Avon and most definitely one of the most beautiful and authentic inns in the surrounding area. It was supposedly originally built as a house for the owner of the neighbouring dye works, Mr Timbrell, in the 18th century. Since then it has served as the town library and home to the rowing club, who built the part of the Grade II listed building that now houses part of the restaurant and some of the first floor rooms. The inn artfully combines the traditional features of the building with contemporary features.

This traditional English inn welcomes everyone, the whole family, including dogs! It is extraordinarily family and dog friendly, even providing a special 'woof' box, complete with treats, toys, and goodies, to make your pet's holiday just as special as yours. All bedrooms accept dogs and they can join you in the bar to cosy up next to the open fire whilst you enjoy a coffee, or in the outdoor courtyard, where you can enjoy a cool West country cider on a summer's day. Due to the hotel's unique position on the river Avon, there are plenty of picturesque walks that your pup will certainly enjoy and many dog friendly places within easy walking distance.

The rooms are exquisitely designed to cater to everyone's needs. They all include soft merino wool, modern textiles, antique desks, freshly ground coffee and tea facilities, and a stash of sweet treats. There's a mix of rustic rooms with thick timber beams and freestanding cast iron baths or more contemporary loft suites with mezzanines and large picture windows with views of the river and church spire. The restaurant provides delicious, authentic, local, and seasonal meals, that are overseen by the former river cottage chef, Tom Blake.

The location of Timbrell's Yard is truly special, in a lovely little village within easy reach of the Roman city of Bath. In the village, you'll find beautiful views of the Town Bridge and lock up over the river, a Saxon church, The Shambles (a tiny street exclusively containing timber framed houses), and the 14th century Tithe Barn, that is one of the country's finest examples of a medieval monastic barn. For a more bustling city vibe, still complete with hundreds of years of history, Bath is only a few minutes away by train or car.
