Mama Nena is a stylish, modern boutique hotel with historical elements, which can be found along the waterfront of the Venetian harbor in Chania. In addition to hospitality in all its facets, you get offered the ultimate privacy here. The house has only three rooms: One double room and two two-bedroom suites. Holidays far away from mass-tourism and leisure stress: Mama Nena provides you with everything you need for a successful holiday on Crete.
In this family business well-being is a top priority. The accommodation is located right in the heart of the city. Modernity can be found throughout the entire facility. The house itself is anything but modern: It looks out over a history, which started in the 15th century. With great attention to detail and high quality Mama Nena was brought up to date. The result: Here you will find a contemporary home far away from home with a minimalist atmosphere.
Each of the three bedrooms is individually decorated and has views of the nearby lighthouse and the sea. The mix of old and new elements is a winning combination, which ensures comfort and flair. Carefully restored furniture, lamps and decorative objects merge in harmony; you will settle in here very quickly and feel at home. This place is intimate, authentic and full of charm; characteristics that match the coast of Chania.
Just because this hotel is small, does not mean that you get offered no services here. It is quite the contrary: A regional Crete-style breakfast is served, which contains of fresh fruits and other delicacies. The rooms were cleaned daily and even your clothes can be cleaned at an additional cost. Wi-Fi is free, laptop and printer can be borrowed when you need them.  Parking-spaces can be found in just 250 meters.

Fantastic!
Date of stay 27/05/2015
I stayed in the Stella Suite for three nights at the end of May 2015. Mama Nena is pretty much faultless when it comes to the organisation, decor, service, the place itself. Matina, our hostess, was warm and friendly, thoughtful and considerate. She had asked what time our flight landed, I hadn't thought much about it when I sent the information - but there she was, waiting with the door open when we arrived! We loved the Stella Suite with the view over the harbour at the front and the roof terrace with view to the White Mountains at the back. The bathroom is small but - like everything else at Mama Nena - well-designed, and everything needed is provided. Breakfast is included and personal considerations were absolutely no trouble at all - I don't eat meat/eggs whereas my mother does, so that was taken care of. Diana, who does the breakfasts, noted I adored olives so I got more the 2nd day and a selection :-) The location of Mama Nena simply could not be more convenient - cafes, restaurants, shops, etc. Extremely easy to nip back to drop off shopping :-) You get a key to the front door so don't need to go upstairs to drop off things (assuming you trust your fellow guests). Yes, there are stairs - to enjoy staying here you need to be able to go upstairs, not require a lift/elevator. Matina is a great source of info - she had already prepared a tourist map of Chania for us, marking her recommendations for where to eat. The place right outside, Tamam, is indeed really good and she isn't just suggesting it because it's right outside :-) The landmark restaurant Christostomos was a bit of a let down - we thought they were coasting along on being well-known: Poor food and mediocre service. If I return to Chania, 100% I will stay at Mama Nena. Be sure to book in advance as they only have 1 room and 2 suites!
