Owned by the Ponte family and dating back to the 16th century, the rural hotel El Patio is situated in the middle of a vast 60-acre banana plantation, just 2 km from the legendary village of Garachico, in the volcanic coastal region of northeastern Tenerife. Within 10 minutes walking distance you can reach a restaurant for a delicious meal or a pebble beach to relax and enjoy the day!

The name is most appropriate as it boasts an enormous patio full of palm trees and plants. The outbuildings, coach houses, lofts, and wine cellars have all been renovated. Every care has been taken to preserve the original charm and rustic setting, and at the same time offer the comfort and standards of modern accommodation.

Due to its historical, artistic and ecological value, the authorities have declared the house a protected site.

Es war genau das richtige Hotel! Das was ich vorfand war noch schöner und besser als das was ich erwartet hatte durch die Website! Die Inhaber & das Personal sehr sympathisch und sehr sehr freundlich.Kümmern sich um alles und sind sehr bemüht,dass man sich wohl fühlt und eine entspannte Zeit hat. Die Lage ist toll! Ich war jeden Morgen zum Sonnenaufgang joggen und die Bananenplantage ist ein faszinierender Ort, direkt an der Küste! Das Hotel ist ein guter Startpunkt für alle Unternehmungen und das kann man viel.Genauso gut kann man in der sehr schönen Atmosphäre auf dem Gut auch am Pool oder den Sitzecken im Garten entspannen.Das Frühstücksbuffet war auch sehr vielfältig und täglich frisches Obst und immer eine kleine Abwechslung dabei! Ich kann nur sagen es ist ein absoluter Geheimtipp und ich werde dort wiederkommen!

Peaceful & welcoming hotel

What a lovely place. A warm welcome, helpful, friendly staff, spacious traditional rooms with good modern shower room, as requested. Plenty of space to sit and read or enjoy the sun, good breakfast, honesty bar, lots of good restaurants in Garachico and Icod.. Interesting walks around the plantation, some stunning scenery and lovely, well kept grounds.. A really great place for a peaceful holiday.

We enjoyed our stay very much. It is an interesting place full of history. Beautifully situated in a banana plantation and with a lovely garden surrounding the mainbuildings filled with blooming citrustrees, palmtrees, jasmin and flowers. We enjoyed the tenniscourt, the pool, the walking tracks in the plantation. The little beach spot in the middle of a lava lagune was just perfect.
