Boutique Hotel San Roque

Das Hotel San Roque ist wirklich die Nummer 1 in Garachico. Wir wurden vom Chef persönlich begrüsst und durch das Haus geführt. Wir haben ihn danach aber leider nicht mehr getroffen obwohl wir ganze zwei Wochen dort waren. Besonders gefallen hat uns die Ruhe und doch zentrale Lage mitten im Ort. Essen am Pool (Frühstück und Abendessen) sind weitere Highlights im San Roque. Wir hatten nicht gerade das grösste Zimmer, aber es war OK. Allerdings hätten wir für 14 Tage Ferien doch besser ein grösseres Zimmer buchen sollen. Schade, dass uns das nicht angeboten wurde! Aber wir sind dennoch rundum zufrieden und gut erholt aus den Ferien heimgekommen. Das San Roque kann man wirklich sehr empfehlen, es ist einfach wunderbar!

We loved this hotel’s location in the wonderful seaside town of Garachico. It’s full of charm, with three great outdoor spaces - a beautiful atrium, area by the pool and rooftop deck for sunning and listening to the crashing waves. And the restaurant was superb! Most of all, the staff was just incredible. So welcoming, professional and helpful. We made a huge mistake on our dates - thought we weren’t checking out until the next day and were all the way on Mt. Teide (over an hour away), the front desk called to politely inquire when we were checking out because other guests had reserved the room! When we told them where we were, they said it was no problem and the staff would move us. Our clothes and belongings were all over the two floors of the room but they moved it all. Worse, after checking out the next day and again being over an hour away, my husband realized he had taken the key (on a fancy key chain)! Again, they said it was no problem - that we could just leave the key at the airport with a taxi service they use and it would make its way back to them. Above and beyond nice!! Only complaint is that both our rooms were on two levels, with the bathroom on a separate level than the bedroom. Up and down a narrow windy staircase wasn’t fun in the middle of the night and is a challenge for most elderly people! And I noticed that many of the rooms facing the interior courtyard had no windows facing outside; if they wanted a little natural light, they had no privacy from people walking by. So it’s best to find out what kind of a room you are getting before you make a reservations so you have realistic expectations. But we had the Tower Room (no. 21) for 5 out of the 6 nights we stayed and the private rooftop deck was spectacular and well worth the extra euros!
