Gastronomy in Bremen Region

We want to sweeten our lives again and again, so it is always a must for us to have a big piece of cake with our afternoon coffee. When we arrived in Bremen Region, we exchanged the cake for a Bremen coffee bread and were thrilled. The bread consists only of white bread, butter, sugar and Zimt. But despite the very easy production it is indescribably delicious.

Beside the coffee bread we encountered also the Klaben of Bremen Region, which are sold at the winter time. They remind a little of the typical Christstollen, since they contain raisins likewise. They have a very aromatic taste and are seasoned with cardamom - ideal for the cold days.

Christmas market in Bremen

The city of Bremen is particularly beautiful in the winter season: the Christmas market is a real highlight of the city and is considered one of the most beautiful and largest markets in Germany. Every year, the Christmas market attracts around 1.5 million visitors, who stroll from stand to stand between Christmas trees and a huge carousel. Delicacies, mulled wine but also jewellery and wooden toys can be bought from the 200 or so stands.
