In the trendy quarter of Poble-Sec, you will find the new little gem of Secretplaces' collection: Hotel Brummell. This beautiful hotel was opened in 2015 and now appears as a true oasis in the middle of the lively city of Barcelona.

The hotel was built and designed to be relaxed, intimate, imaginative and adaptable. The façade of the building remains just as it was in 1870 while the interior has been completely transformed. The architect, Inma Rábano, rehabilitated this historic building into a structure that now provides all the comfort you could wish for. The original designs make all the charm of the property. Trust us, Brummell is the kind of place where other worlds and times mix with modern times. A true delight for the eye!

Moreover, Brummell enjoys a perfect location. The 20-room boutique hotel is located a few steps from the Miró Foundation and The Grec theatre. Off the beaten track, but an easy walk to the city, mountain or sea, Brummell encourages guests to explore Barcelona, but also to stay in. La Rambla is a 15-minute walk away and the closest metro station Parallel Metro station is located just 250 m away. For guests who wish to explore the sights of Barcelona, Montjuïc is known for its parks and gardens and is within a 10-minute walk.

After a long day doing some sightseeing and visiting the city, go enjoy unlimited free yoga classes, T-training or boxing sessions, which are hosted at the well-being centre The Loft.

There’s also a running club, for both guests and locals, organized regularly. Or maybe you want to refresh yourself by having a nice swim in the outdoor pool, enjoying a cool drink on the terrace, having a relaxing time in the sauna, wandering around in the garden or simply retreating to your cosy and comfy beautiful room.

All rooms boast modern furniture and artwork by young European designers. Each one is equipped with a safe, coffee and tea facilities and a yoga mat. The private bathroom has a rain shower, a high-powered hairdryer and free toiletries by MMLL. Suites have a private, furnished terrace with an outdoor bath.

Brummell Kitchen offers a seated buffet breakfast with homemade granola, local products and fresh orange juice. Guests will also have 24h/7 access to the self-service Honesty Bar, with a selection of drinks, tasty snacks and other delights.

You will also enjoy the on-site restaurant Palo Cortao restaurant. A revisited taverna with twisted classic flavour and dishes and a great wine menu.

Hotel Brummell is the perfect choice for people wishing to stay in a little haven of peace while discovering the vibrant city of Barcelona.

Valeri 1

Date of stay 01/11/2019
We stayed 6 nights in one of the Hotel Brummell’s apartments, the Valeri 1. It has a windowless one bedroom with double bed, plus curtained bonus area off main room with double mattress on floor and window to street. Both beds mattresses were very comfortable with nice sheets. The towels are large but we only had 4 between 3 people for the week. There is a washer/dryer (wash pods provided) that we used to wash the towels but we could not figure out how to get the dryer part to work therefore had crusty air dried towels despite hanging them on the towel warmer. Instructions on how to use the washer/dryer would be helpful, even after googling the symbols and trying to find instructions online, it proved difficult. There are 2 “balconies” that let in lots of light and air if you don’t mind the street noise which is more people talking then car noise. The courtyard area is not a nice one that you’d use to sit out and eat which was disappointing, but has the washer dryer closet in it. The kitchen was equipped with the necessities plus coffee, however even having used the stovetop espresso maker in many European apts, we couldn’t get it to make a good coffee so went to Oma’s most days. Location is pretty good, lots of restaurants, shopping, and groceries within walking distance. The rug and daybed in main room could use replacement, but apt decorated in a cute cozy quirky way and we enjoyed our stay there.
