If first impressions count, and they most often do, then you'll fall head over heals in love with the Relais Villa Vittoria at first sight. It sits in a marvellous position overlooking the gentle banks of romantic Lake Como, for starters.
If ever there was a perfect place to “pop the question”, so to speak, this is it. It inspires romance, so no wonder, then, that over time it has enchanted poets, writers and sophisticated travellers alike.
The story of this ancient villa is actually pretty singular. During the second half of the nineteenth Century, its mulberry garden was used for raising silkworms in order to produce the precious silk used in creating the unique fabrics and accessories that have made the area in and around Como famous worldwide.
The villa was later used as a summer holiday resort by a noble Milanese family and now, having been completely renovated, it weaves a northern Italian spell by maintaining the charm of the past with the quality of the present.
Guests have several options at their disposal. There's a swimming pool, a large garden on the lake, a beauty spa, a bar and a wine-bar bistro, a spacious living room and a panoramic terrace where breakfast is served.
As for rooms and suites, they come in all shapes and sizes. Some with lake view others with terrace and yet others with balcony, where it is possible to have breakfast.

A beautiful location, splendid views of the lake. Charming and discreet hotel best suited to couples. Spotless and classically decorated bedrooms. Lake view is a must. Young and enthusiastic staff who are always on hand for service with a smile.

Shakespeare once said: The Earth has music for those who listen. This gorgeous place was the most perfect setting, for our romantic get away and it was most certainly music for the eyes, mind and soul! We stayed in the Cottage Room, a very tiny and romantic cottage, next to the main hotel and we really enjoyed having our own little terrasse and privacy. The staff was very friendly and helpful with both arranging a private boat tour on the lake and other inquiries such as Seaplane Tour and directions for ferries etc. The hotel Restaurant, with Lake view and the option of dinning on the terrasse, was incredible. We especially enjoyed the breakfast, watching the Sunrise over the mountain top. It doesn’t get more romantic than that!! We will be returning to Relais Villa Vittoria for sure. Thank you for a wonderful stay, great service, lovely food in incredible surroundings!
A Great Setting in Lake Como

We very much enjoyed Relais Villa Vittorio. It was a beautiful premise with a lovely garden and pool right on the lake the staff were all very accommodating and friendly. Our room was spacious with a lovely balcony to enjoy the view. We chose the half board option for our dinners and the food was excellent - a good value. It also allowed us to enjoy wine and not worry about driving on the narrow winding road.

Very mixed stay. Room lovely. Lake facing — stunning views and no road noise. Staff friendly. However, we found ourselves there at the same time as a party of tourists attending a wedding. Breakfast on the first day was appalling — almost no food left & dirty plates strewn everywhere (coffee was good tho'). The wedding guests were inconsiderate at dinner (we ate out after that). Swimming pool was, for part of the day, filled with people drinking, playing loud music and indeed one guest used the pool to wash their child. I'd strongly recommend checking if they have large parties staying before booking — this wasn't the quiet, relaxing break we'd imagined.
