This recently renovated 17th century palace (real one, not some fake Disney version) is pretty special, certainly one of the finest of its kind in Lucca. Special and conveniently located in the heart of the city, we may add.
And what a city, Lucca isn’t called the “city of 100 churches” for nothing, its full of them and the Tucci is close to some of the most impressive as well as the main shopping street of Via Fillungo.
Rooms, all of which are located on the 1st floor, are simply enormous with amazing artworks, frescoed ceilings and period furniture and furnishings that really go back to a sumptuous time gone by – pretty incredible, as we hope some of the photos demonstrate.
Though only six rooms in all, they pretty much cater to all types, from doubles (even these are huge) to quadruples and suites - all of course decorated in that historical style, yet still offering air-con, Internet, etc.
This genuine historical palace also quite a modern advantage: it offers guests private parking facilities, a very important plus in Lucca where there are access restrictions to cars, given its historic heritage.

When visiting Tuscany the historical city of Lucca is not to be missed and Palazzo Tucci is the perfect place to stay in style and experience the grandeur of a palace still owned by the family Tucci. Noticing our interest Alessandro was a great host and took us on a visit through magnificent rooms that are otherwise reserved for functions and weddings. The palace has been entirely renovated and all the rooms are decorated with frescoes, plasterwork and original furniture. Including the suite in which we stayed and made us feel like we had stepped back into the past yet with all the comfort of modern life. Fabulously located in the center just a short walk away from Piazza dell’Anfiteatro and other major sights, Palazzo Tucci is a hidden treasure I would greatly recommend to anyone in search of authenticity.
Breathtaking
The halls, bedrooms, dining rooms (large enough for wedding receptions) are absolutely breathtaking. Gold woodwork, exceptional artwork on the walls, frescoed ceilings, etc.
Exceptional
This hotel was just amazing. And the owner was so sweet. It was centrally located, and the restaurant across the street was delicious, so we didn't have to travel very far to come back after our meal!
