Traditional guesthouse Xenonas Fos ke Choros

The name Xenonas Fos ke Choros is rather appropriate under the circumstances, as it means “Light and Space” in Greek and sure enough this lovely guesthouse provides light and space in abundance wherever you are. We don’t know what the Greek is for authenticity, hospitality or stunning views, but in our opinion these could do equally well for a title.
But whatever the name, Xenonas Fos ke Choros is the perfect antidote to the ills of mass tourism and soulless projects. Surrounded by cypresses and decorated to very high standards of taste, where earthy colours and vibes dominate, it is the labour of love of Albert and Anita, a charming Dutch couple that have been called more Greek than the Greeks themselves. You can easily see why given their welcoming nature and infectious enthusiasm for their home and island of Kythera. Talking of Kythera, perhaps because it is relatively hard to reach it still retains an authentic local feel that is enhanced by the fact that many of the tourists here are Greek themselves.
Xenonas Fos ke Choros is located almost bang in the middle of this lovely island so it is a great base to get around. Numerous beaches, all great, and with different characteristics (some wilder some more family oriented) are within an easy 15 drive away, that is if you can get yourself away from the terrace and those stunning views.
