Casa do Farol

Casa do Farol is a three storey, three bedroom villa, elegantly rebuilt in Foz do Douro, where the river meets the Atlantic. The lovely blue of the view accompanies you from morning to evening. The house has a minimalist, carefully considered design, full of light, with open, comfortable spaces.

On the ground floor, you are welcomed by a large open space social area where the living room, dining space and kitchen flow naturally together. There is also a guest toilet. You will find books, board games, a TV and a bar style corner. On the first floor there is a small desk area, one bedroom with a shared bathroom, and a cosy suite with beautiful river views, a dressing area and a private bathroom. On the second floor, a reading nook awaits, as well as a very spacious suite with direct access to a lovely terrace, perfect for relaxing or enjoying a drink at sunset, always with the river mouth as your backdrop.

The kitchen is very well equipped and designed for longer stays. It includes an oven, microwave and hob, as well as a fridge freezer and dishwasher. You will find complete cookware, crockery and cutlery, a dining table and wine glasses. For everyday use there is a coffee machine with coffee, a kettle, toaster and blender. The house has a private entrance, beach towels and 500 Mb/s Wi Fi, plus easy parking right outside the door.

Foz Velha is a charming Porto area with a real neighbourhood feel: narrow streets, sometimes on a slope, lined with old houses. Closer to the coast, the atmosphere becomes more open and bright, with restaurants, cafés and a more seaside rhythm. Right in front is Jardim do Passeio Alegre, a public garden with lush greenery and mini golf for family plans. A few steps away there is a local greengrocer and a good selection of restaurants, from more gastronomic options to casual spots by the river. Nearby, Casa de Pasto da Palmeira is a reliable choice for sharing dishes with a good wine. For getting around, the Elétrico 1 tram stops almost right in front of the villa and follows one of the prettiest routes into the centre. The house is ideal for anyone who wants a genuinely local setting, full of character, peaceful and safe.
