Alavera de los Baños literally means “by the side of the baths”. As the name implies, it is right by the 13th century public baths of the Moorish citadel. These are considered to be one of the best Islamic examples of their kind anywhere – and are not to be missed. The hotel itself is small, charming and located by the edge of the wonderful medieval town of Ronda. Inma and Christian, the very friendly hosts, have built up Alavera in keeping with Spanish-Moorish traditions. Hence the interior includes wafer bricks and warm colours whilst the exterior is made up of whitewashed walls, terra cotta tiles, railings with flowers etc. There is also a reading room come library and lounge. A really attractive and well-decorated hotel that provides for a pleasant stay.

The hotel is in a very secluded place yet easy for walking into town. Beautiful building but room was tiny. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious, staff helpful. The town lost electricity at 10:30pm and the hotel was not able to restore it until 9:15am (Note: no generator)

Das ist der richtige Ausdruck für dieses Haus ! Vom Empfang über das Zimmer, das Frühstück und den Garten..... Kein Wunder, dass es so beliebt ist und die Auslastung hoch! Ich wünsche der Familie weiterhin liebenswerte Gäste, die dieses Haus zu schätzen wissen.

Kleines gemütliches Hotel mit einer wunderschönen Innenbereich und kleinem Pool. Die Leute sind sehr nett und es ist wie ein zweites Zuhause. Das Frühstück wird noch gebracht und war sehr reichhaltig. Das Hotel war unterhalb der Stadt, zu Fuß ca. 10 min ist man in der Stadt.

El hotel es muy lindo, con buenas habitaciones, toallas y sábanas de calidad, ubicado en un lugar tranquilo aunque cerca del caso histórico.Hay que subir hasta allí, pero el paseo vale la pena. La atención excelente, el desayuno muy bueno, la piscina justa para una tarde calurosa.

Understandably this is a very popular place to stay, so our relatively late booking meant that the only room available was quite small and overlooked the (generally very quiet) road. Nevertheless we really enjoyed our stay, the owners were very helpful and it's location suited us perfectly, although some might find the climb up into the town a bit taxing. The swimming pool was an added bonus as we didn't realise there was one and the weather was very warm. Would definitely go again, but would be sure to book earlier and get a larger room!

Wunderschönes kleines Hotel, abseits vom Trubel, ruhig, sehr schönes Ambiente, toller kleiner Garten, Pool, Ausblick nur in die Natur. Am Rande der herrlichen Altstadt, nur wenige Stufen und man ist mittendrin. Prima Frühstück wird persönlich serviert, sehr netter Besitzer und netter Empfang. Viele hilfreiche Infos zum Aufenthalt. Gute Literatur, Zeitschriften usw.in kleiner Bibliothek. Wir parkten direkt vor dem Haus und hatten ein kleines, aber feines Zimmer mit Deckenventilator, ohne TV, den wir aber nie vermissten. Unbedingt empfehlenswert!
