Umamma is a panoramic two-story loft from the 1500s, where you will find yourself in an unexpected world embraced by the Florentine hills, from where Leonardo Da Vinci’s house can be observed. The accommodation is perfect for those who want to rediscover natural energy.

The apartment has managed to retain much of its original appeal with 21st-century updates. Old-world industrial-style fittings, delightful brickwork, elegant arches, and an impressive, pebbled floor are some of the features in the loft-like space. From the spacious, newly expanded windows guests can enjoy views across the countryside.

One of the most remarkable unexpected details in this incredible accommodation is the hidden plunge pool in a cave which can only be accessed through a secret passage in the bedroom floor. The passage is opened by using an old industrial wheel once used to cut prosciutto. The pool has won several awards for its uniqueness – and it is easy to understand why.

On the entry level, the first open space consists of a fully equipped kitchen, two spacious interconnected spaces with panoramic windows overlooking the Tuscan hills, while a more reserved en-suite studio bedroom is situated to one side.

A master bedroom with a king-size bed, a master bathroom, an additional lounge area and a dressing room/storage space are provided in the second open space. This room is divided by wall-to-wall and floor-to-ceiling glazing from the loggia (covered terrace) of the apartment, which provides 180-degree views of the surrounding landscape and DaVinci's Hills.

The picturesque hilltop town San Miniato where Umamma is located has a Gothic cathedral, a 13th-century tower and it most famous for its white truffles and the truffle festival which takes place every year during the last three weeks of November. Nearby cities such as Florence, Pisa, Lucca and Siena can be reached by car in approximately 30 minutes.
