Zinema7 Hotel

The Zinema7 is an ode to cinema. The theme of the 7th Art runs throughout the hotel and we love it when a concept such as this works to perfection. With hindsight, it couldn’t have been any other way, as the old, emblematic Astoria Cinema actually houses the hotel, which was subsequently renovated and rebuilt to take in San Sebastian’s first contemporary cum boutique themed hotel.

And what is the end result? A great experience! All the rooms (102 in all, so it is not a small hotel, as such) are dedicated to an actor, movie director or someone associated with the film industry, or who has attended the internationally renowned San Sebastian Film Festival (going strong since 1953).

Whether taking in the public areas or the rooms, everything is movie inspired. Beautiful San Sebastián is almost a movie set in itself, it is gorgeous and very photogenic and only some 15 minutes by foot from the main centre. Thank goodness that the owners of the Astoria 7 are movie buffs and experts, for they have created something that is that little bit different for those that want something out of the box.

It is their tribute to the importance of movies in San Sebastian, thanks in part to the festival itself.
