Surrounded by vineyards, the cute little guesthouse Casa Casilda lies in the old quarters of the town of Tacoronte in the north of the island, some 15 minutes from Puerto Cruz de Tenerife. The magnificent building of great historical value dates back to the 18th century and opened as a hotel in 2015. The owners have taken great care to maintain the essence of a typical house from the Canary Islands.
The five rooms are all different: one of them with large windows overlooking the garden, other ones with patio or terrace and all with private modern en-suite bathroom. The rooms are quite spacious, contain free WIFI but no TV.
Luachi, the host, will take care of all your needs and will serve a fantastic breakfast every morning that she adapts to the individual taste of each traveller. The garden with its lush trees and native plants invites you to relax and stroll around. The Casa Casilda does not have a swimming pool, but you will find plenty of possibilities to take a plunge in the ocean at Mesa del Mar or El Pris with a variety of beaches just 10 minutes away.
There are lots of things to do within walking distance, such as the path of Agua Garcia, declared protected landscape in 1994. This forest is one of the most important redoubts of laurisilva in the Canary Islands. In the Heritage Information Centre you can get all the information you need about the natural values of this unique place. Another interesting visit includes the Hamilton Gardens opened in 2013 with a large area dedicated to the endemic flora. The town of Tacoronte also deserves attention because the people are nice and there are several interesting monuments. Bicycles can be rented from the hotel and there are a variety of possible activities nearby, including golf, horseback riding, and windsurfing among others.
Casilda House is truly an authentic remainder in this island of Tenerife usually connected with mass tourism and overcrowded places.

Fin de semana de pareja
Date of stay 09/03/2017

From the outset since first making contact with Secret Places the whole experience has been excellent. Secret places staff were always accessible and extremely helpful with every aspect of planning and preparation.. The hotel and location were perfect and as we had hoped. The character of the house, the breakfasts and the hospitality of Lanchy and Manolo were outstanding. The location was perfect for all our trips whether the cliff walk at El Pris, the route to Mt. Teide through the El Esperanza forest or the awesome walk from Cruz del Carmen to Chimanada. The house is a museum in itself and with the garden rooms opening out on the garden made the whole experience so atmospheric. The warmth of local patrons in the bars was exceptional and we felt adopted by the neighbours whether the corner shop or at the wonderful Cayana restaurant. Take a uke it will be much appreciated and there will be an opportunity to join in with the locals. La Laguna is also in easy reach and a delightful world heritage sight to explore. Thank you Secret Places and Casa Casilda..
