The bed and breakfast consists of 3 rooms in the north wing of one of the properties. Located upstairs, they open onto a cosy shared living room that adds to the homely atmosphere. Each room has its own bathroom, two of them just outside the room and one en suite. Downstairs, the breakfast room overlooks the spacious courtyard. Here, a Scandinavian breakfast is served each morning, prepared with organic, locally sourced ingredients. During the colder months, the room is warmed by the fireplace, making it an especially inviting place to start the day.

For those seeking more privacy, travelling with a dog, or staying with family and younger children, the property also offers the Hen House. This 50 sq m cottage accommodates up to four guests and includes a double bed, a sofa bed, cooking facilities, a private garden, and an outdoor seating area. Breakfast is also provided here, delivered daily in a basket. It is an ideal option for a slightly longer stay.

The cottages at Kungs Starby Gård have a wonderfully secluded feel, thanks to the long gravel drive leading to the property and the peaceful courtyard. Yet despite this sense of calm, the house is only a 10-minute stroll from Vadstena Castle and the town’s charming centre.

Vadstena itself is a beautiful historic town, known for its monastery and church, its good local restaurants, and the surrounding countryside, which is ideal for walking. The nearby Göta Canal offers even more ways to enjoy the landscape, whether on foot, by bike, or by boat.
