The "House of Thoughts" - charming and traditional.
The Monte dos Pensamentos (the House of Thoughts) is a whitewashed, Moorish style accommodation encompassed within refreshing arches, fragrant eucalyptus trees and an olive garden where a number of animals are able to roam (lambs, ducks, chickens that provide the eggs visitors will appreciate at breakfast).
The owners have been very attentive to detail and this is reflected in the decoration throughout. The communal living room has an enormous fireplace and includes painted furniture, religious engravings an impressive array of faience on the wall.
There is also a liberal use of Alentejan marble and fine wood throughout. Rooms in the main house are as charming as the small apartments – all having been decorated in the authentic Alentejo style. Monte dos Pensamentos is also close by to the attractive walled town of Estremoz and other historic cities of the region.
