Somerset

With open countryside, sandy beaches, and historical cities, Somerset has a taste of everything! A beautiful British county with some of the most stunning natural landscapes in the UK, you'll be in awe of the wildflower meadows, beach waterfalls, ancient wells, limestone gorges... and many more! Also home to Glastonbury Festival, Somerset has some of the coolest music scenes around.

SOMERSET - WHAT TO DO

You won't be lost for things to do in Somerset as it's such a varied and interesting county. From interesting historical sights, such as Glastonbury Tor and Abbey and the Roman Baths in Bath, to exciting festivals, such as the world famous Glastonbury Festival or the Weston Sand Sculpture Festival - Somerset has it all!

SOMERSET - GASTRONOMY

Strawberries and cream - name a more iconic duo. Cheddar cheese and cider!

Well, luckily for you, both of these iconic duos can be found in Somerset. The booming dairy industry has meant that some of England's most famous cheeses were born in Somerset, most notably Cheddar. Visit Cheddar Gorge to see the cheese maturing in the underground caves, then try one of Somerset's own ciders, found in many variations.

For dessert, make sure to also try the strawberries, that once were so famous that they even had their own train on The Strawberry Line.
