There is no shortage of cultural activities either: La Seu Cathedral in Palma de Mallorca is an absolute highlight and there are also many interesting art museums and historical buildings. Palma is also perfect for a shopping tour.

If you are travelling with children, a visit to the Western Water Park or the Safari Zoo could be great fun for the whole family.

What to eat in Mallorca?

Mallorcan cuisine is throughout Mediterranean. Basic ingredients are often vegetables such as peppers, tomatoes, courgettes, aubergines and garlic, and lots of fish. The dishes are mainly prepared with olive oil, which is also produced in Mallorca itself. Pork and lamb are common on the island, and some dishes and meat products, such as “sobrasada” and “butifarra”, are prepared with the meat of a native breed of pig, the "black pig" (Spanish: cerdo negro). A speciality is the “caldereta”, a Mallorcan stew in a seafood or lobster variant. Delicious regional wine is also produced on the island.
