Well-located and renovated hotel in Florence.
The Hotel J &J is not only located in the heart of Florence, by one of its ancient streets, but it also seems to have kept the heart of Florence in mind. The conversion to this 16th century convent building is nothing less than impressive, adding to the building a host of new and comfortable features whilst keeping the original frescoes, plasterwork and fabulous cloisters, complete with well, around which rooms are arranged.
There are even Doric columns and vaulted ceilings to behold. Notwithstanding this, the J &J does have a contemporary feel to it. One modern facility it does not have, however, is an elevator so older people should take this in mind.
However, the large rooms, excellent locations near to the Duomo and the Santa Croce district, more than compensate for this, as do the spacious and airy bedrooms.
