Luxury Riviera Retreat.

So you think the French Riviera is perhaps too crowded, has lost its mystique or authenticity? Think again. Even here, after years of development you can find little secret gems and the Villa Mauresque is a case in point.

It is made up of two stunning white washed villas (Le Palais and Les Jardins) set within verdant grounds and century-old palm trees make up a 15 bedroom luxury bed and breakfast. Villa Mauresque is an absolute oasis of a place, yet here’s the paradox, the central location, hidden away on the route de la Corniche, makes it easy to get to almost anywhere in the area.

And now we’re at it, another slight contradiction. No room service, no television, no restaurant, and no staff at night (it does not serve dinner) may suggest a Spartan place, but no, this is first class luxury, except not in the normal hotel sense. Your staying at a home from home and everything is provided for to make a great stay: the rooms, which are all named after French artists or writers, are pretty massive by anyone’s standard and come with four poster beds, marbles bathrooms (also ample) and ceramic tiles.

The gardens are another delight. Wonderfully kept and manicured with heated swimming pool and Jacuzzi they are an open invitation to relax or simply enjoy the views at your disposal. All this is only 45 minutes away from Nice airport. Discreet luxury at your disposal rather than the ostentatious opulence the Côte D’Azur is often known for.
