Previously an old water mill, Molino del Santo was acquired by an English couple and transformed into a rural hotel in the small town of Benaoján, in the magnificent Natural Park of Grazalema, close to Ronda. It is a quiet and comfortable place, with white washed walls, hand-made carpets and handcrafted wood chairs. The hotel provides 18 attractive and spacious rooms - some with terrace (all superior rooms have a terrace) - a garden, a solar heated swimming pool surrounded by fig trees, quince-trees and others flora.

The living room is most inviting whilst the restaurant is rich in vegetarian food, notwithstanding other dishes a la carte. Having a candlelit dinner in Molino del Santo on the terrace beside the gushing sound of the millstream is an unforgettable experience. Explore the olive-trees and almond trees in the surroundings or perhaps a three kilometre ride to the Paleolithic “La Pilate” cave.

My new favourite hideaway in the hills

This hotel was perfection from beginning to end. The setting is utterly beautiful, and each and every member of the staff are charming and thoughtful. The food is amazing, I’d already read the reviews but the whole experience surpassed every expectation I’d had. The hiking routes are varied, and the views are spectacular. The rooms are done in a simple classic Spanish style, and are comfortable and have the added benefit of air conditioning. I hope to come back time and time again.

The Perfect Lunch

For probably 8 years we have been taking our guests from our house in Sotogrande up on the train from Estacion San Roque to Benajoan to enjoy lunch at the Molino Del Santo. We have always had the most exceptional food, made to feel most welcome and the staff are delightful. Sitting outside under a parasol with the rushing stream creating a feeling of coolness and the smell of jasmine wafting through the air is a wonderful setting for a long and peaceful lunch. Today was no exception, we had the most delicious gourmet fare with an Andalusian touch, washed down by local wines and all for a very reasonable price. Well done again, keep it up and we will be back in September.
