The Italian holiday home “der bircher” in northern South Tyrol is a family-run holiday paradise with 16 stylish holiday apartments offering highest comfort standards and a homy feeling. It is a place with history, located where once a medieval tower built by the Lords of Trens towered over the city. The imposing stone walls, old vaults and wooden ceiling still attest to the builders’ wealth today. The Eppurg was managed as an inn from 1829 and has been owned by the Mayr family since 1925. “der bircher” offers exclusive ambience over three floors.

Every apartment is not only spacious but also makes you feel comfortable and gives you a little bit of extra holiday luxury. All of them offer one or several bedrooms, a living room, wardrobe, bathroom(s) and kitchenette. Some of them also provide a beautiful mountain view. The typical homemade Italian breakfast can be enjoyed in the in-house café with sun terrace managed by the oldest daughter of the family, who also looks after the family bakery and patisserie in an exclusive setting. If you prefer breakfast in bed, you can contact the breakfast service that brings all the delicacies to your apartment door. Of course, they also offer several vegetarian options. However, if you prefer preparing your own meal, you can use the kitchenette that comes with every apartment.

The location is a good starting point for wonderful hikes in the surrounding valleys, for example in Val Ridanna, Val di Vizze or up the Passo di Pennes. In winter it is not far to the popular ski resorts in Racines, up the Monte Cavallo and Ladurns. In 40 minutes you are in the magical Funes valley and in Gardena in an hour. Here you are enchanted by the unique mountain scenery that has been declared a Natural World Heritage Site by UNESCO. We also recommend you to stroll around the historic town of Vipiteno/Sterzing, which is around 5km from the accommodation. The hotel also offers a children's playground and guests at the accommodation will be able to enjoy outdoor activities such as cycling. Staff on site can arrange airport transfer.
