Hermitage Castelo - Casa Chafariz

Located in the historic designer district of Santos, you will find a lovely house with holiday flats that were extensively renovated in 2018. Of course, the authenticity and the original structure were preserved. The name of the house comes from the so-called fountain of hope, the Chafariz da Esperança, which decorates the building since 1760 and was even classified as a Portuguese national monument in 1910.

The building consists of 5 flats on 4 floors and can accommodate 2 to 6 people. The first floor is accessible by stairs, while the upper floors can be reached by lift. All have bedrooms with living area and kitchen and are furnished in a modern style. Especially the apartments on the upper floors offer you a magnificent view of the city and the newly designed Tagus harbour.

It is only a 10-minute walk to the heart of the city centre in Chiado or to the iconic Time Out gastronomic market. In this neighbourhood you will find a mix of tradition and modernity, antique shops, art galleries, museums, traditional and hip restaurants and cosy bars. The proximity to the other interesting parts of the city makes Casa Chafariz a perfect base for exploring the Portuguese capital.

Parking is available nearby. However, taxi fares in Lisbon are not expensive either and if required, a personal pick-up from the airport can be arranged for your arrival. The journey takes less than 30 minutes in normal traffic.
