The Gate Garden Hotel

There’s a good reason why this enchanting place to stay is called The Gate Garden Hotel with a veritable Garden of Eden at the back, blocking out the noise from the big city. It will probably be the first thing that strikes you at the hotel. The lawn is lush, replete with ivy and centuries old trees, goldfish pond, the gentle splashing of a central fountain and even antique statues scattered throughout - all this whilst the birds are chirping away, non stop. The garden alone will be enough to make a stay in the city centre of Berlin a relaxing proposition, but the rest of the hotel is no less attractive.
Rooms are generally old world and remind us that the The Gate Garden Hotel itself is a listed early 19th century building - so expect stucco ceilings, old window sills and wooden floors, not synthetic materials. Many pieces are antiques, of course, but bathroom amenities and facilities are all modern. It all makes for one of the nicest charming houses to stay in central Berlin – comfort, friendliness, style and peace right in the north Mitte, a short distance (or tram-ride) from Prenzlauer-berg. This is not a hotel in the full sense of the world, however.
