Chateau des Briottieres

Château des Briottières is a magnificent 18th-century castle in Val de la Loire, owned and lived by the same family for seven generations.
It now offers some of its splendid rooms as a luxury hotel, to the delight of visitors to the area. Inside the château, you will find huge candelabra, marble fireplaces, exquisite fabrics and common spaces full of elegance and comfort. Bedrooms are situated on the first floor and provide us with a lovely view of the 100 acres that comprise the estate – parks and gardens cared for “à la Anglaise”.
Our charming hosts, François and Hedwige de Valbray will give you a warm welcome and introduce you to the sumptuous facilities that include: a restaurant with traditional French cuisine with ingredients from local markets, a billiards room, a large library, swimming pool – and even a gift & souvenir shop with rather reasonable prices. We can ride a horse or a bicycle, play tennis within the park – or golf on a nearby course.
Should you feel like venturing a bit further, the village of Angers is round the corner, as well as the abbeys of Solesmes and Fontevraud, and a number of châteaux that accept visitors.
The Cointreau distillery is also in the vicinity – and, two and a half hours away, the ever spectacular Mont Saint Michel.
