Riad Laaroussa

We have nothing but praise when describing Riad Laaroussa in Fes – a centrally situated 17th century palace that was once the residence of a Crown minister – and that was recently restored with loving care by Fred and his family.
It has large communal grounds, five ample suites plus two more bedrooms, a comfortable roof terrace from where you can contemplate the Medina all around you, a garden patio with a fountain surrounded by orange trees and a splendid kitchen that welcomes visits and where Fassi cooking lessons are imparted. Service is faultless and Sabah, Hind, Fatima and the others will make us feel totally at home.
We were impressed by the luxury bathrooms with glazed tiles and the typical Moroccan tadelakt in the walls, plus bathrobes and all sorts of toiletries. There is a place to park in Ait Aizlen, five minutes away. As soon as we walk away from the Riad’s blissful quietness we have all the Medina to explore, with the busy souks (street markets) and people’s lively chatter in the streets. Highly recommended by our team.
