OUTSTANDING - NATURE - RESORTS.

There you have it, 3 words describing the L'AND Vineyards in a nutshell. Located in the heart of Alentejo, set in a unique landscape defined by Vineyards and a lake, L' AND Vineyards is an exclusive country club with only 22 suites integrating modern architecture with nature whilst providing an atmosphere of understated luxury, natural beauty, peace and tranquillity.

It's sort of unusual for this area to have such elegant design orientated luxury. But it's utterly compelling. The resort is situated around a formal vine garden and a swimming pool commanding sublime views of the lake and Medieval hilltop castle of Montemor. At the central reception building a contemporary reinterpretation of Roman and Arabic atrium architecture creates a spacious living room, library, gift shop offering bespoke "L'ANDMADE” products.

The building also houses a winery, the "wine club", an 800m luxury spa, and a courtyard restaurant and lobby lounge area. The interiors were designed by ground-breaking Brazilian architect Marcio Kogan who created the space using natural stone, slate and wood with a unique set of art pieces, fabrics and furniture style.

At L’AND Vineyards guests can literally sleep under the stars and marvel at the Alentejo night sky, with its own private suite collection that offers retractable ceilings.

Unfortunately, we only stayed one night at the L'AND Vineyards, but is was definitely worth it! The estate is beautiful, and the hotel and hotel suites are situated so that you can have privacy on your terrace, even though the suites were next to each other. We can definitely recommend the restaurant, which served excellent dishes and matching wines. Breakfast had just that little extra to it: sweet snacks with high quality. Staff was very friendly and helpful. All of this makes for a very good stay, and we would recommend staying for at least 2 days since you will then be able to use sauna, indoor swimming pool, outdoor swimming pool, take a walk on the estate... Etc etc. One tip for the hotel interior decorators would be to think about painting the ceiling +/- the walls of the sky-view suite bedroom black (or at least a dark color, not white like it is now): this way you will be able to see the stars much more clearly, which is what the sky-view suite is all about...
