Palazzo Charlie

With a full refurbishment, the 19th century town house has been given a fresh lease of life offering our guests – holiday makers and business people alike - a skilful blend of understated elegance and pleasant comfort in Lecce’s historical centre and cultural heart. Palazzo Charlie is a lifestyle B&B with four very spacious suites, each of them with its proper layout and individual design. Common to all are the high ceilings, the marble flooring, floor-to-ceiling windows with a French balcony and a private design bathroom. The Palazzo is furnished with a mix of contemporary furniture and lovely vintage pieces here and there. Natural materials and subtle colours lend simple elegance and natural cosiness; while original art and design details leave a lasting impression.

On request, for example for a longer stay, we offer two appartements, a large (150sqm) and a smaller one (70sqm), both situated on the first floor.  The small appartement has a bedroom, a living-room and a large room with a kitchenette while the large appartement boasts two bedrooms, a dining-room and a modern, fitted kitchen. Even the whole first floor can be rent as a single 220m2 apartment that can comfortably be reached with the lift. 

In the comfy lounge or on the 220m2 roof-top sun terrace with its breath-taking view on the old city, daily hustle and bustle fades away; gentle deceleration invites to convivial moments, sometimes with the sound of Sant’Anna’s church choir in the background. We offer a calming and soothing atmosphere in order for our guests to feel at ease and well-taken care of, therefore, Palazzo Charlie is not ideal for families.

We serve a rich and healthy breakfast, including fresh, local, if possible organic products, as well as home-made specialities. Brunch is served on weekends and holidays and, of course, whenever Charlie decides so.

Puglia with its pronounced “italianità”, where each season offers different experiences and attractions, is Italy's best kept secret, which we are happy to share with our valued guests through recommendations and reservations. Charlie himself takes over the “artistic direction” in the background. He would love our guests to remember Palazzo Charlie as a refreshing place, as if they had been at a friend’s house, but with the amenities, services and privacy of a boutique hotel.

Lecce is a pleasant-sized, baroque city in the Salento region, sometimes described as the "heel" of the Italian "boot". The Salentini are a proud bunch, celebrating their cuisine and a local dialect called Salentino, that is related to the Sicilian language. A week in Lecce and you will feel its pulse and be invariably carried away by its ambiance. The longer you stay in Lecce, the more you will love it. With the “passeggiata”, the compulsory stroll after sunset, the streets come alive with concerts and performances and cafés, bars and restaurants offering a host of delicious treats. The Salentini love to see and to be seen or to meet friends for impromptu drinks or leisurely dinners - the atmosphere is informal, the setting always spectacular.
