Rising along a spectacular granite massif north of Madrid, the Manzanares River flows in the beautiful Cuenca Alta del Manzanares Regional Park (declared an UNESCO nature reserve in 1985).
It’s pretty dramatic stuff and the lovely Las Horas Perdidas (only one cottage for maximum 4 persons) is bang in the middle of it all. Now, the name Las Horas Perdidas actually means the “Lost Hours” in Spanish. We don’t know the exact reason for such a title, but it could easily have to do with the fact that it is simply so easy to lose and immerse yourself in such dramatic landscapes.
The enclave is really special and any house built here could not detract anything from these exceptional landscapes. Thankfully, this is the case with the Las Horas Perdidas. It has been decorated with fine materials, exotic wooden floors, ceilings and exterior walls. The kitchen has everything you need to cook and you can order home made products to make your own breakfast.
The setting is spacious, welcoming and intimate.

An amazing beautiful area of Spain I never knew until now. We had a wonderful few days exploring by car & foot. The house was absolutely delightful with everything one would need for self catering. Very comfortable & cozy & clean & private. The owner met us there bang on time & made us feel very welcome. Situated right at the top of the town where foot paths into the hills & mountains begin. Perfect for walkers & hikers & nature lovers. Plenty of good places to eat in & around the area, plus good shops (1 local organic shop). Very easy to get to from Madrid airport, took us 40mins! Would for sure visit again.
