A typically cute rural Alentejo house - made for relaxation. This late 18th century rural house was originally used as a granary and has been in the hands of the present owner’s family for six generations. The architecture is typical Alentejo – simple lines and whitewashed walls that help keep the visitor cool in the summer. The house itself has been decorated with family owned objects, which added to the owner’s hospitality give it a homely feel. Outside there is a swimming pool, stable and even a small river nearby.
Monte Alerta also commands excellent views of the attractive village of Monsarraz. Don’t forget to try the first-rate breakfast.
Available PACKS - these offers are valid exclusively for 2 nights stay in double occupancy room (check promotions for detailed information).
A very pleasant stay, on a secular house. Old kind of style furniture but that was to be expected in such a family house. Nonetheless the rooms were very comfortable and functional.
Sergio is an amazing host, very straight forward and down to earth kind of person, very welcoming and available.
The breakfast is all you need, and if you want more, just ask as all the staff is super friendly and welcoming.
The surrounding area is something out of dream, Monsaraz is such a wonderful place.
Monte Alerta is definitely a place to repeat.

Very nice place near by Monsaraz. Stayed there for 4 days with 2 adults and 3 children. Swimming - pool was heavily used by the kids. Sergio, the boss, helped us and recommended nice places for eating and so we learned a lot about real portuguese landscape.
Highlights have been a visit at a famous bodega, the pottery village, a boat trip on the lake including swimming on a little island and a dinner at a wine cellar in Mourao.
Should have stayed there for a few more days.
Thanks for these interesting days at the border to Spain, 40 km east of Evora/Alentejo.
