La Maison Bleue Algarve

On a small square in the charming medieval village of Silves, in the Algarve, you will easily discover this house as it does not go unnoticed due to the intense blue of its tiles.

The "La Maison Bleue Algarve" was built in the 19th century and recently completely renovated. The owners preserved the characteristic structure of an Algarve house with its white and blue facades and terracotta roof tiles. They have also maintained some unique details that represent the rich historical and cultural heritage of the area such as the ceilings in some of the rooms, the Portuguese tiles. Some of the historical objects were transformed into decorative pieces. 

It is a bed and breakfast, which offers its guests the possibility to book the rooms separately, but can also be rented as a villa in exclusivity. The Maison Bleue Algarve has four spacious rooms with high ceilings, designed for two people each. They differ in size, from 46  and 30 m2 down to 24 and 26 m2. All rooms have extra-large double beds, bed linen, private bathroom with towels and hairdryer, air conditioning, heating, wardrobe and a desk. All rooms have beautiful wooden floors and a unique decor with soft colours in shades of beige and blue. The house is full of stylish details and decorative elements that make this space chic and captivating. 

There is a swimming pool, perfect for the warmer months, which is located in a large courtyard that is accessible to all guests. There is also an outside area with tables and chairs for a leisurely snack or cocktail. All guests have access to an executive lounge and a car park, which is free of charge. Please note that the rooms on the first floor can only be accessed via the staircase.

This beautiful house is located in Silves, one of the oldest towns in Portugal, also called "the Moorish town of the Algarve" because of its past. Although it was founded by the Romans, it was under Moorish rule for many years. Strolling through its streets you will notice various details that dazzle you with the remnants of the different cultures that have survived in this city. The highlight is its medieval fortress, which can be seen from the Maison Bleue. If you wish to go for a swim, there are beautiful beaches only a 15 minute drive away. There are also golf courses nearby and the airport is a 40 minute drive away.
