Historischer Gasthof Zum Riesen

Are you looking
for a place far enough from it all, yet easy to reach?
Find yourself again, breath in deeply and let yourself
be seduced by this historic refugium.
Each of the 9 rooms is really special and fully equipped. Some of them provide
a balcony with stunning views and a lot of the furniture are originals
from decades, often centuries ago. During the course of the restoration, they
have been cleaned, reassembled and made functional again. Every bed is fitted
with a high-quality mattress and prestigious bed linen. The rooms don’t provide a TV but if you would like to have one, you
can request one when you book your room. The mini bar „Vinschger
Koster“ contains a variety of goodies, food and drinks, snacks, energy
bars and dried fruits. You will also notice the quality of the food enjoying the lovely breakfast made with local and
fresh products or trying one of the dishes in the “Tarscher Wirt” restaurant. For pure relaxation or cold winter days, a brand-new sauna and wellness area is waiting for you. Built with fine materials and ready to make you feel good, this is the best place to recover from a mountain excursion or a bike ride.
The surroundings of Tarres have a lot of activities to offer during every season. In spring you can go cycling on the ancient route, the “via Claudia Augusta”, do excursions, alpine skiing and culture activities, while in summer you can do a lot of mountain excursions, use the cable car or visit concerts and open-air shows. When the larch trees wear a coat of colours, and the first snow comes together with the beautiful sunshine, it is the perfect time to explore the “Törggelen” harvest going for an autumn walk. On the glacier of the Senales Valley even the ski-season already starts in autumn and reaches its peak in winter when you can slide on your skis across the Martello Valley, explore the landscape on a pair of snow shoes or try alpine-skiing between the Venosta Valley, Solda and Belpiano. For Christmas lovers there are also several Christmas markets to visit.
