Hektor

Hektor doesn’t pretend to be a hotel. It’s a farm with principles, humour, and an unfiltered sense of charm. On arrival, you’ll meet Silvestre, a rescued donkey with plenty of character. Three friendly sheep, a curious duck, several cats and a dog complete the cast — not ornamental, but present, part of the place.

Located in Los Valles, in Lanzarote’s quiet north, this is the kind of spot where things are grown, not curated. It’s for adults only (18+), and designed for guests who appreciate a sense of honesty — in the décor, the food, and the welcome.

The four independent suites each come with a small kitchen, living area, private bathroom, and their own entrance. But more importantly, each has a distinct tone and feel:

• The Astrologer
  Quiet and moody in black, with monochrome art and a touch of introspection.
• The Farmer
  Rural in spirit, closer to the animals, and filled with earthy textures and stories.
• The Graphicist
  Bold and contemporary, filled with graphic art by names like Jean Jullien and Walter Van Beirendonck, with west-facing evening light.
• The Herbalist
  Lush, tucked away, with greenery and a cool, calming energy.

Breakfast is plant-based and made with ingredients from the farm or local producers. The cooking is confident but relaxed. No pretence, just good food — and if you want the recipes, you can take them home.

There’s a plunge pool, a few dirt paths through the terraces, and a silence that reminds you that Lanzarote has its own rhythm, once you tune into it.

No spa, no concierge, no fuss. Just a place with heart, balance and a way of doing things that feels entirely its own.
